DX Central Live!, the popular weekly livestream from DX Central devoted to AM and FM DXing returns for Season 4 on Friday, January 5, 2024 at 1845 CST. DX Central Live! streams on YouTube, Twitch, Facebook and Twitter/X.
Host, Loyd Van Horn, returns to Northshore Studios to bring weekly live AM/MW DX sessions, the popular MW Frequency Challenges, DX tips, tricks and a community of DXers comparing notes and live conditions.
"I am most proud of the community of DXers we have built that tune in to DX Central Live! every wee," says Van Horn. "Seeing DXers in the stream chat comparing what they are hearing with each other, with what we are hearing from here in Louisiana, it is one of my favorite parts of what we do each week."
Each week, Van Horn also conducts the weekly MW Frequency Challenge announcements and previous week's results. The MW Frequency Challenge focuses the efforts of DXers on one specific AM frequency (or range of them) to try to get as many DX loggings as they can for the allotted time.
"You see it in the club bulletins, on social media and throughout anywhere AM DXers congregate...they get excited about focusing on specific frequencies and pushing themselves to log as many stations as they can," says Van Horn. "It allows DXers to compare notes and help each other by sharing tips and samples of what they are hearing and what to listen for."
